ECONOMIC INCLUSION FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS
According to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as of 2015, about 736 million people still lived on less than US$1.90 a day; many lack food, clean drinking water and sanitation. Rapid growth in countries such as China and India has lifted millions out of poverty, but progress has been uneven. Women are more likely to be poor than men because they have less paid work, education, and own less property.
The elimination of gender inequalities is a direct response to the elimination of poverty. CEFRESA works on Innovative approaches to empower women and girls, as well as youth and other socially excluded groups in Agriculture, food security, climate change advocacy and environmental justice. CEFRESA recognizes this empowerment as a crucial contribution to the realization of the 2030 Agenda and other national policies and programs. It is deemed necessary to serve as a catalyst to accelerate sustainable development overall.
